A Georgetown man and a Smyrna man are each facing DUI charges after crashing into the circle, police say.

A 28-year-old Smyrna man was arrested Friday night after police say he crashed into the Georgetown Circle following a high-speed pursuit, causing significant damage.

Investigators say a truck struck a parked car and then ran away from the scene, heading toward The Circle.

Friends, family and local police gathered Monday to honor Officer Chad Spicer, who was killed in the line of duty on September 1, 2009.

A Maryland man is behind bars after police say he kidnapped another man in Georgetown on the morning of May 3 and drove him to Seaford, where the victim later escaped.

The Georgetown Police Department is offering advice to locals on how to protect themselves from credit card skimming scams after a device was recently found at El Mercado on Layton Avenue.

According to police, the scam works like this: an individual receives a package with their address on the label, but there is no clear information about who sent it or where it came from. Common items include jewelry, Bluetooth speakers, and other small items.

Additional fencing has been added to the Sandhill Fields sports complex. This project was completed following a break-in on Aug. 4.
