One person was hospitalized after a house fire Saturday morning on Layton Davis Road, off Route 24 near Millsboro, according to Indian River Volunteer Fire Company.
Fire crews responded to a structure fire on Carolina Street, on the ocean side of town, where at least one house was fully involved and nearby homes also sustained damage. The Delaware State Fire Marshal said the fire broke out shortly after 3 a.m., causing minor injuries to first responders.
According to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, emergency crews were dispatched around 2 a.m. to 1315 Middleneck Dr. after neighbors called to report a home in flames. When first responders entered, two adults were found inside. Authorities say the adults received CPR from EMS units prior to being transported to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, where they were pronounced dead.
