DELMARVA - Late Monday evening in Sussex County will bring clearing skies and cooler air as overcast conditions from earlier in the day gradually dissipate. Memorial Day temperatures topped out in the low 70s inland and the 60s along the beaches—less than ideal for holiday beachgoers or poolside plans.

Overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, dry and calm weather will dominate, with temperatures dipping into the low 50s for much of the county. Light winds and gradually clearing skies will contribute to a crisp and quiet night.

Tuesday will feature mostly dry conditions through the day, with intervals of sun and clouds. Temperatures will again stay below seasonal averages, reaching the upper 60s to low 70s inland, and hovering in the mid to upper 60s along the coast. While it's not summer-like warmth, the day will remain pleasant for outdoor activities before wet weather arrives.

By Tuesday evening, clouds will begin to increase from the southwest, signaling the approach of a more active weather pattern. Rain chances will remain minimal during the evening hours, but showers are expected to develop late Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

Looking ahead, Wednesday appears to be a washout, with widespread rain and scattered showers continuing into Thursday. Drier conditions may return Friday, although a few showers could linger into Saturday. Warmer temperatures are expected to build in over the weekend.
