DELMARVA - Partly cloudy skies will greet early Thursday as a slow-moving upper-level storm system remains over the Mid-Atlantic.
A few lingering showers will be possible during the morning, although much of the day should remain dry. Another isolated shower or thunderstorm could develop during the afternoon as colder air aloft combines with daytime heating. Overall most stay dry with a pretty decent day on tap.
Temperatures will remain below normal for late July, with highs generally reaching the lower 80s. A northwesterly breeze will increase during the day and may become gusty at times.
Any afternoon shower should fade by Thursday evening as the storm system moves farther offshore. Clouds will gradually decrease overnight as high pressure begins building into the region.
Drier and more comfortable weather is expected by early Friday morning, with lows falling into the lower to middle 60s. Friday will begin a brief stretch of quieter weather that should continue into Saturday.
