DELMARVA - Beach towns along the Sussex County coastline—Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island—can expect a string of seasonable and settled weather beginning early Wednesday and continuing through early Friday morning.
After a breezy cooldown Tuesday night, Wednesday starts off cool with morning temperatures in the upper 40s to low 50s. But with plenty of dry air and light northeast winds, the day will gradually warm into the low to mid 70s. Expect intervals of sunshine mixing with high clouds, creating ideal conditions for those strolling the boardwalk or planning outdoor lunch breaks near the shore.
This pattern continues into Thursday. Overnight lows will dip once again into the 40s and low 50s, making for chilly mornings. However, daytime highs will remain steady in the low to mid 70s with just a few passing clouds and minimal humidity. It’s a classic early fall feel—great for biking, beachcombing, or dining al fresco without the heat.
By early Friday morning, the cool and quiet trend holds, though clouds will begin to increase slightly ahead of an approaching disturbance from the south. While Friday itself is expected to remain dry and mild, forecasters are watching a shift toward wetter weather by Saturday.
For now, midweek beachgoers can enjoy some of the best weather of the season: cool nights, sunny afternoons, and light breezes—all without the crowds of summer.
