DELMARVA - Coastal communities in Sussex County and Ocean City will experience gusty winds and cooler conditions through Saturday as a cold front moves offshore and high pressure briefly builds in, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday morning will start off breezy and dry, with winds gusting up to 40 mph along the coast. Temperatures will struggle to climb past the upper 40s to low 50s during the day, with wind chills making it feel even cooler. Winds will gradually diminish Friday night as high pressure builds in, allowing temperatures to drop into the upper 20s and 30s.
Saturday will bring a brief warm-up ahead of another cold front, with highs reaching the upper 50s to low 60s. Skies will remain mostly clear through the afternoon, but winds will increase again as the next front approaches. By late Saturday evening, another round of cooler air will move in, setting the stage for a chilly night.
Looking ahead, Sunday will start off sunny but cool, with another storm system expected to bring rain chances early next week.
