A gloomy, damp day continues across Delmarva with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s inland. Scattered showers and drizzle develop this evening and overnight with patchy fog and lows in the mid to upper 40s. Sussex County starts Tuesday with clouds and patchy fog, then turns milder with some afternoon clearing. Clouds thicken Tuesday night, and a few showers could arrive toward early Wednesday as the next system approaches.

Sussex County should stay mostly quiet late Monday night into Tuesday, with patchy fog and seasonably mild temperatures. Any light wintry mix is expected well north of Delaware, while highs on Tuesday climb into the low 50s.

A cloudy, mild and mostly dry stretch of weather through midweek, as high pressure dominates before a weak cold front ushers in cooler air. Hurricane Humberto and Tropical Storm Imelda will stay well to our south. Dangerous surf and gusty winds are expected along the coast Tuesday through Friday, with the potential for coastal flooding during high tides on Wednesday. Conditions settle into a pleasant, early-fall pattern for the weekend as high pressure takes hold once again.
