DELMARVA — The unsettled weather pattern continues into early Friday morning and persists through early Saturday as a stalling front remains near the Delmarva region, keeping skies gray and the air damp.

Following the passage of a cold front overnight, early Friday starts off cloudy with spotty showers lingering through the morning hours. Rain chances gradually decrease into midday, but skies remain mostly cloudy as the boundary stalls just south of the region.

Temperatures will remain mild, especially across Sussex County and the Maryland beaches. Highs are expected to reach the upper 60s to near 70 degrees by Friday afternoon. Despite the break in rainfall for many, low-level moisture sticks around, making for a damp and cool feel throughout the day. Dew points fall slightly but remain in the 50s, offering a noticeable but not dramatic break from Thursday’s humidity.

By Friday night, a weak area of low pressure tracking across the Ohio Valley begins to nudge the stalled front back northward as a warm front. This will help reignite scattered showers across the region, particularly late Friday evening into the overnight hours. Coastal areas such as Rehoboth Beach, Bethany Beach, and Ocean City may also experience patchy fog, especially near the water, as moisture levels rise and interact with cooler ocean waters.

Skies remain overcast through early Saturday, with temperatures holding steady in the 50s overnight. By daybreak, light rain may still be falling in some spots, but heavier activity is expected to shift farther north as the day progresses.

While Friday into early Saturday may not offer ideal conditions for outdoor plans, warmer and more humid air is on the way. A noticeable shift in the weather is expected later Saturday into Sunday, when much of the region warms into the 70s and low 80s with a return of southerly winds.
