DELMARVA - Spring fever hits Sussex County as a surge of warm air arrives just in time for the weekend. Beginning Friday morning, the region will experience a stretch of above-normal temperatures, some cloud cover, and a few opportunities for light rain.

Friday Morning:
Milder air begins to move in early Friday behind a weak warm front. Morning lows will start off in the mid-30s to low 40s. Expect a mix of clouds and filtered sun through the early morning. Winds will shift from the west to the south, helping boost temperatures through the day.

Friday Afternoon:
Clouds will thicken as a stronger warm front approaches from the west. While most of the day should remain dry, scattered showers are possible late in the afternoon into the evening. Daytime highs will climb into the low to mid-60s inland, with coastal communities like Rehoboth and Bethany Beach topping out in the upper 50s.

Friday Night:
The warm front moves across the region, bringing scattered light showers. Rainfall amounts will be minimal — just a few hundredths of an inch expected. Overnight lows will be significantly milder than recent nights, ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s.

Saturday:
This is your day to soak up the warmth. Thanks to south-southwesterly winds and clearing skies, afternoon highs will soar into the mid to upper 70s across inland Sussex County. Some spots could even flirt with 80°F. Beach towns will stay cooler, with highs in the low to mid-60s, but still pleasant. Expect a mix of sun and clouds through the day, with breezy conditions at times.

Saturday Night into Early Sunday:
A weak front will sag southward late Saturday night, bringing another round of clouds and scattered showers — primarily in northern areas, though some rain could reach downstate before daybreak Sunday. Overnight lows remain mild in the upper 40s to upper 50s.

By early Sunday morning, Sussex County remains in the mild air mass, setting up another day of spring-like warmth before a more active pattern returns to start the new week.
